Yes its great to have it in English. But when you ask upfront if any functionality will go you kinda expect to be advised what will change.
Its not that we want Jap maps in NZ is just that the ICON goes, along with the digital Tv and phone ICONs.
I now understand that the handsfree is being worked on as the voice recognition was in Jap but I didn't realize that all phone functionality would be gone too.

Remove HDD from MMCS
Remove battery for minimum 10 minutes
Connect to IDE of PC (MMCS drive only)
Boot from CD XBOXHDM
Choose option 3 ‘boot linux with locking\unlocking utilities.
Wait for Root@Xbox-HDM:/1 Prompt
Type command
unlockhd –p <KEY>
this is the J-01 Key I used
B2BAB3BCB0DFACBEB1BBBEDFB1ADD2CDC9CEB5B2DFB19E8996 DFAA8C9A8DDFDF
If completed successfully typing command fdisk –l will show the partitions
Turn off pc
Run Windows with MMCS HDD connected
Locate Loading.kwi on partition with folder screendata.
Backup the original loading.kwi then replace with the new one
Reinstall HDD into car
Reconnect battery
Nek munnut….. English J-01

If you use this file with this method and you haven't done the other steps correctly - the next time your battery is flat or is replaced the MMCS will fail at the next boot-up with Japanese load disk error.

Still nothing on the JS-02 model? I have found the codes to unlock but not sure if the LOADING.KWI file is the same between models. Just want to be able to view in English, maps and other functions can come later if at all.

A lot of thanks for this great thread which I read very carrefully!
I may use some precious information to solve a problem I have the HDD (I think this is the root cause) of my MMCS.
But before this, I would need your help...
=> If you could have a look to my thread called "MMCS : error message" (https://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/mi...message-47296/)
Many thanks in advance!!!
Best regards,
Sabine

i own a pajero 2008, with mmcs (loader BLD-NR-261EM V1.09)
i followed step by step the instructions given by rcostin at the very first post :
i removed the hdd and i made a bootable cd containing xboxhdm. Then i connected the hdd to my laptop (single drive) and booted from the cd with option 3. with linux. so far so good ...
i run the unlockhd command -p (including each and every password i found in this forum)... but....zip, niente nothing ! everytime the result is the same :
HDD serial number : "something"
HDD firmware revision : "something"
HDD model : TOSHIBA MK3029GAC
Security supported : Yes
Security enabled : Yes
Security locked : Yes
Security frozen : No
Security count expired : Yes
then i also rub the fdisk -l command and....of course nothing happend!!
any help will be much appreciated!!

Depending on your bios version etc you will have different steps
Best way to find out which steps are for you is to do this test
Boot up again with your HDD attached
Does the bios stop you at any stage to enter a password?
if so press escape 3 times to move on (or bogus password if Esc does not work)
Try the unlockhd -p with the password *with one attempt*. what is the Security count expired value now (Yes or No)
