Independent Fog Light Mod

Independent Fog Light Mod
Greetings!
Has anyone been able to make the fog lights independent of the lights for an Outlander? I have a 2010 Outlander XLS AWD V6
Right now, the lights have to be on in order to use the fog lights. I am looking to make them independent of the driving lights.
Much appreciated!

If you are comfortable doing your own wiring, I had an idea to add fog lights to my '07. I stopped because I didn't have the full assembly to make it look right...and didn't want to spend the money to get there. Try some searching in here. it was discussed a few years ago that you could buy something like '01-'03 Diamante fog light buttons that will fit right into the button panel where ASC is turned on/off. Use an ACC source and run a single wire into the engine bay to a relay that runs both fog lights. Disconnect the OEM wiring as that won't be used anymore.

As far as I know, you can just get a Lexia device and set an option in the ETACS to have the fog lights turn on even with the headlights off.

Well now I feel like an idiot. My fogs will operate when the parking lights are on, so I'm all good! I just tested this morning and realized this. Oops! Good enough for me, I just didn't want my driving lights on when its foggy. The fog lights to a better job cutting through it.
UPDATE: I don't know why I thought this worked, must have been early morning or something, but my fogs do not work with the parking lights on. They will only work when the lights are on.
