Default Outlander 2007 - Passenger Side View Mirror

Hi there,

My side view mirror - plastic housing cover got cracked off when backing out from garage, but the glass is ok. Dealer quoted it for about $500(Canadian) including parts and labor. I have googled better deal for part, so I am planning to do it myself. One question I would like to ask if it would be required to remove the door panel in order for me to replace the whole thing, or just remove the triangle cover (which has a speaker on it) from inside.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also, can anyone recommends a good mechanic specialized in Mitsubishi in Toronto area?

Thanks in advance,

Victor

Not sure about the exchange rate, but pretty confident that $75 + shipping + customs would not = $500CAD. I use the diagrams on that page to figure out where the bolts n clips are before I disassemble any parts/panels. There is also a really good Mitsubishi mechanic on Ask.com and he only cost's about $20US for thorough and easy to follow directions. Hope this helps

Does anyone know if the whole door panel has to be removed to access the mirror power connector? Or does the speaker just have to be removed?

I had the same problem.. You can fix it pretty easy by writing the car off... That's how I fixed mine anyway :P

The $500 included labour. I'm pretty sure $75 US is a months wage here in Canadia.

I had to do the same thing when someone clipped my mirror on the freeway. No need to remove the whole door panel. Very easy to do by just removing that triangle. A few screws and the plug and you're done.

Thumbs up

Thanks raptornexus and 11SE2HEAR. That is what I was hoping to hear. Sounds like a quick easy fix!
