Default Outlander LS 2008, possible to install aux input?

I have the Standard LS 2008 version which has the 'basic' stereo with just one CD. I have an Ipod and bought a radio emiter (I don't know how they're called) to use the car stereo. But, I don't get that good fidelity, and sometimes I have too much signal noise wich makes me play a CD for a while.

The stereo has a selector from CD and another for FM AM and Satelite. Now, does the stereo has an internal input jack that I could use to route a cable and connect the Ipod using a RCA or mini RCA cable?

You should have the aux inpuut. It is located behind a little plastic cover that you have to snap open at the bottom of consolefacing the middle of rear seat. Threre are threeRCA type female sockets with colored plastic. You need just two - red and white coloured. Get an adapter cable for your ipod. Something aftermarket, original one would be pricey.Once connected use the mode button on your radio to switch to the right input.
Better yet - crack the freaking manual open and read it, of course, this is optional/voluntary...
Good luck.

Go look and see if you can locate 3 RCA connector, yellow for video input, and the other two, white and red are for audio input. This pic might help. Picture taken with access door open / flip up.

He probably doesn't have the input, as he doesn't have sun and sound. I have an 07 xls with the six disc, and no input. It's easily installed though, the wires are there under the console.
A search on here will find the wiring colors to connect a 1/8 th size male plug, or rca if need be.
You'll have to remove the armrest, and solder in the wire.
Or you can purchase one from a mitsu dealer that connects to the back of your stereo for around $40.00 US. It will come out the glovebox on the dash if you go that route.
They're on ebay, or thru an authorized web dealer like mitsuaccessories. They come with full directions. I'd post a link, but I'm new and believe I can't yet.

I would perferthe $40 method. It is the cleanest way to add aux inputs.

My 2008 Outlander has the red and white AUX inputs at foot level in the console (access from the back seats). It does in deed work. Holding the CD select for 2 seconds is the trick, that's when the AUX input comes up. IPod plays great! Many Thanks!
