Hi,

I have an LG shine mobile phone which acts a music player.
It automatically syncs up with any bluetooth enabled audio
system and plays music via the bluetooth connection on
the audio system itself.

However, this doesn't work with my 2008 Outlander LS
which is bluetooth enabled. I can of course make calls
with the cell phone and the Outlander bluetooth setup
but I can't play music.

Any tips on how to play music from my phone via
the bluetooth connection?

 

Without too much guessing, I would say that the Outlanders BT system only handles BT calls not BT stereo, also called A2DP. Sorry, I would also like that functionality. Maybe if someone remakes some parts in the Win CE OS and make a new image, it could happen, but dont hold your breath... Otaku, are you listening

 

I have the LG chocolate and it has an FM transmitter for music. Not sure if your phone has that but that might be a way to hear your music on your phone.

 

The BT system is separated from the MMCS itself and by default has allocated the front right speaker (nav takes the right one - at least in my outie). It can handle only phone calls and nothing else. It recommends itself as "handsfree system" not "audio gateway"
so in this stage, you can not use it to listen music. Maybe with an FM transmitter ?

 

Good answer. I did indeed verify that when I pair my phone with a computer it can
connected as an audio gateway or a telephone device.

 

I think new 2010 Toyota Prius has ability to play music via bluetooth

 

Well a Prius can't tow anything!

I did find out that there are two RCA cables at the back of the
LS 2008 center armreset console. I'm just going to plug it in there.

Bluetooth connections are desirable since many phones have non-standard
audio output jacks that require an inexpensive but always breaking
adapter.

hey guys.....

This is very importent to know that...
takes call with BT (HF) profile, but for listening music you need to have Bt A2DP profile.

May be in you music system dosn'e support A2DP thats why U r nt able to listen music.

You don't need MMCS. The FUSE system with the base stereo has this ability in the 2010 Outlander.
