The mods we are talking about are safety features that are present but just need to be turned on. I'm loving my setup now.
Hmm. Interesting. Still in the honeymoon period of owning a car. When the novelty has worn off, I may try it. I love the look of the "DRL". Gives it a luxury look like Audi. And even my pile of scrap accord had auto lock when I drove off. So I'm not sure why it's not on default in the outlander. Glad you found the fix.

I like the remote start a lot. I didn't think it would be something I'd use frequently but we've had consecutive 90+ degree weather and it's nice to cool the car for 5mins before I get in. Yes the motor will shutdown when you unlock the door. It's a safety feature. And it's pretty easy to use. The only thing I haven't figured out is the real range of the remote.

I am in Washington state so mostly use it in the winter. The 3 button sequence was a bit if a hassle at first (remembering which one to press and which to hold) but fine now. Don't understand why they couldn't have incorporated in into the fobs like most other car manufacturers.
We were away for a few days and left the remote at home and missed the ability.

Thanks for the range!

I agree. I was hoping the remote start could be activated with the regular fob. Carrying 2 fobs is annoying. It's in my side pocket of my cargo shorts since it's the summer. And it'll probably be in my jacket pocket in winter but for fall and spring, it's a little too bulky for the jeans pocket.

I'm deciding what paint protection package I should go for.

1. Opticoat pro plus
2. Opticoat pro plus + xpel ultimate on bumper, door edges, mirrors, headlights and partial hood
3. Opticoat pro plus + xpel ultimate on bumper, door edges, mirrors, headlights, full hood & fender

Default Xpel and Opti coat pro plus

Just had my GT wrapped and Opti coated. Xpel - Full hood, fenders, front bumper, mirrors, door edges, door handle cups and headlights. I'm thinking if I should have done the A pillar too. Maybe next time. The car feels really slick. Can't wait for the first rain day to see the water beading. Might put a layer of gloss enhancer after that.

What should I expect to pay to have this done on mine? Paint is so thin and really want to avoid dings on the hood especially.

Where are you located?

I'm in Philly and I paid $2500 + tax. Is it worth it? Only time will tell but paint on modern cars in general are really thin and watered down because of environmental regulations. It's not just Mitsubishi.

Default First scratch

Someone scrape my rear driver side corner. I was just gone for 15 mins. Sigh. At least I think it should buff out pretty easily.
