Default roof rails?

I recently purchased a used 2010 outlander and would like to be able to get a surfboard rack for the top but it didn't come w/ roof rails. I'm having a really hard time finding a company that makes them. Any ideas?

The 2010 - 2011 GT in the US was/is bald (i.e. no roof rack).

Get the roof rack out of a wrecked Outlander or for big money from Mitsubishi.

Other avenue is Thule (expensive but good)

I've seen other 2010 outlanders with the roof rails. Was it an option that had to be purchased from the factory? Was it an extra like the tow package? Do you know if roof rails from older model outlanders work on the 2010 body style? Are the a drill and mount rail system or do the clip into the small track on the roof?

Sorry for asking so many questions I've just been trying to find them for sometime now. Don't feel like you need to answer all of the questions either.

Any Outlander from 2007 up will fit. All Outlander are pre-fit for the rail.

Just make sure you get all the plastic and bolts from the donor car. Or from Mitsubishi if your budget permit.

They come in black or silver yours to chose.

Cross bars are an option from Thule or Mitsu.

I ton't know about the US but in Canada in 2007 there was a base Outlander LS that had steel wheels, no window tint and no roof racks. It was available in 2WD or 4WD. I think the hard mounts are still there so like some one said earlier your best bet is find a smashed one and salvage the rails. They should screw right on.

Thanks a million Claude_A and Bender03117. The picture you attached (Claude_A) really helped. Now I finally know how it attaches to the roof. I'll start calling salvage yards and see what I can dig up. Thanks again you guys

Does anyone know why the 2010 GT model does not come with roof rails? It was loaded otherwise. Back up camera, nav, leather all the way around, even a tow package

A decision from the wigs at Mitsubishi USA.

In Canada the top of the line is called XLS it's basically the same as the GT.
We have the rail but the tow package is optional so it's the same decision process at management level.

AND you don't want to know about the tons of nice upgrade available in other markets you would cry.
