Thanks for the update and additional valuable information about CVTs and hot weather.

160km/hr, eh?

30C, eh?

I may be taking a warm-weather vacation soon. Now I know where to go.

Dear All,
I would like to report back on the trip that i took on the same rout after everything was done as mentioned above. I am happy to inform you all that on my way and back i drove total of 1000KMs on freeway and that slow down warning never came. So, it seems like problem has been sorted.

Hi niazqamar

Did you do a drain and re fill or a complete flush to your CVT? I need to do it in mine eventhough I have no "Slow Down" sign but I do have jerking movement when I want to pass a car in high way.

Thanks in advance for the info.

Hi niazqamar. I too am in Windhoek and drive a 2007 2.4 Outlander. I am stranded on the side of the road as I type this. Car drives well in town but cvt overheats on highway. I was on my way to Okahandha doing 120 km/h for about 15/20 minutes when the cvt overheated and put the car into limp mode. It would cut engine power as well while in limp mode. So now seating here waiting for transmission to cool down enough to get going again. Can you please provide me with details of your mechanic? Maybe he can help me sort this issue out.
