Default Greddy Informeter doesn't work?

I just got a Greddy Informeter,http://www.greddy.com/products/displ...SubCategory=560
it allows you to use the OBD2 port to monitor, set warning points and datalog your vehicles performance though it's own On Board Diagnostic sensors. Select through important signals like Speed, Tach, Temps, Air Flow, Voltage, etc.
However I have a slight problem, The Greddy Informeter won't work on my 08 Outlander Ex 3.0(CHINA Version). I am using I select the corresponding menu selection, though the Informeter reads back that I need to choose the correct Manufacture and that it was unsuccesful when attempting to communicate whith the ECU.
Is my ECU just not compatible or should I attempt to modify the OBD pin connector and tap into the wires at the ECU??

many thx

I am about 99% sure the ECU for the outlander is not compatible with the current software in the Greddy Infometer I would suggest contacting greddy before anything else.

I would highly highly recommend against tapping directly into your ECU. Even more so if you have any form of warranty on your car. Altering the OBD2 Port and the wiring for the ECU is a great way to ensure your warranty is voided.

Wrong communication protocol likely - Mits protocol adheres to ISO 14230 (KWP) and ISO 15765 (CAN).
