Default Power Steering Return Line

Hello all,

I have a 2006 Endeavor, had it since new. Just got a small leak in my power steering return line. The leak is located in the 8" length of rubber hose in the line right after it exists from the steering column. Do I need to replace the entire return line or is there an easier solution. Something like splicing the hose back together after cutting out the small pin hole? Any help would be great. I am a DYIer and hoping I can find a solution sooner than later. Planning a trip to the mountains next weekend.

one thread would do there lad.

it's hydraulics. do you understand hydraulics? - yes it is possible to cut and re-join hydraulic line, but it may be cost prohibitive. expecially for 8" worth of standard replacement part hose.

only girls need power steering anyway

I tried the duct tape first cuz we all know that fixes everything. Unforetunetly there was enough pressure that it leaked through. Called the local dealership and a entirely new return line is only $88 and in stock. Picked it up today, installing tomorrow.

Sorry about the double tread Akzle. Just over excited I guess.

DUCT TAPE, Turning ohh ohh ohhh's into mmm mmm mmm for years now. But if you use tape for a fix just keep a good pair of walking shoes in the back of your vehicle bud.

Well the hose that I am getting is about 4' long. It includes a bunch of metal fittings and is mostly metal. In the 4' hose only 8" is rubber. Replaced it last weekend, no issues. My baby is back to normal. Now time to install my Curt hitch and pick up my boat. DUCT tape really let me down this time. Maybe I should just install my hitch using only DUCT tape... lol. What could go wrong???
