If you really want to add the power inverter after, wouldn't it be possible to by a cheaper aftermarket inverter, wire it up to the OEM purchased socket/parts and you could consider higher wattagethe one in my 2007 Outlander is 100Wsome aftermarket ones at half the price might have twice the wattage. I would think you would just have to watch that the factory parts/connections could handle the higher wattage. Something like these.... http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/su...freshPage=true

Absolutely anything can be removed its just a matter of how much time you wanna spend trying to figure out how to remove it.

We need to know 2 items for cooler glove box, at least:

1. Number Part for Shut dial assembly
2. Number Part for Shut dial hose

I check in my Outlander does some time and exists the port for the connection of the hose and also exists the receiver for shut dial on the glove box wall. The next diagram shows the necessary parts:
