No experience with this,but it may get you going in the right direction.
I wanted a solution to having an engine dump me when I was miles from my home,My mechanic told me that they use "Napa assembled shortblocks" I dont recall the exact name as i havent researched it yet.
If any of my vehicle's engines dumped on me when i was out of town, engine would just be replaced ( by a rebuilt shortblock I assume)by any local shop they had contracts with nation wide. Thats alot better than trying to find soomeone to do it and who may try to cheap out in rebuilding the engine.The surely have a more uniform ,consistient rebuilding process and warrantied engine thats servicable anywhere in the us. You wont get that with a small time rebuilder,especially if youre miles from his shop. He told me my ford 5.8 was $3500 and Im still waiting for the 3.0 MSport price. The do A/Ts also.
