Just bought a set of Michelin X-Ice Xi2 for my 2011 Outlander. 215/70/16 are on closeout at Tirerack. I've had them before on a 2006 Accord. Prefer Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice (not Ice WRT) but available sizes are very limited in the Goodyears.
Don't get a ton of snow so I cannot speak for the Michelins in snow but looking at the tread, I'd say they are not deep snow biters. I do know that the Michelins are WAY better than all season tires on a slippery surface.
Another tire that comes in 215/70/16 is the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2. Have them on my Infiniti 2WD QX56. Spent almost 9 hours yesterday blissfully driving around other vehicles that were having all kinds of trouble on the icy/snowy roads. Easily drove up a hill that had other vehicles inching forward while their tires spun.

Got any feedback regarding the tires that you chose? I've been planning to acquire dedicated winter tires before, but I end up with a set of Nitto Ridge Grappler instead. I'm very satisfied with my choice and it also has a good highway grip and reduced noise while driving.
