advice about a trade

so i have a really hard decision to make and i need some help.

alright so i have a 98 camaro 3.8l v6 with a brand new engine that cost 4000 and the camaro was bought for 5000. the new engine has 4000 something miles on it. the body has 150000 something. there is nothing wrong with the camaro. it runs fine but its just not what i want

this guy in town has a white and black 91 eagle talon tsi awd which is what i really want. it has some problems though. it really needs a tune and its only running 9 lbs of boost right now. its not stock though, it has new headers, cams, a good bov and some other things but i cant remember them. my friend that knows that specific car and says if i get it tuned right it'll have a little over 400hp.

the talon runs either too rich or too poorly. he let me drive it and it would die everytime i come to a stop but other than that its fine.

i am wanting to know if you guys think this would be a good trade? i really want it but i dont wanna screw myself over. thanks!!

I rather stick to the car that has NO PROBLEMS.
You like the other car but with problems.

It will give headaches and financial burden in the long run.

Just like dating 2 girls one is nice, smart and normal and the other one is pretty, sexy but a psycho.

Which one do you choose?

sounds like the person who owns the eclipse right now doesnt know what he is doing and i am willing to bet he is venting the BOV to the air which will cause that stalling. They are fun cars but like any old car it will have problems, especially when its been modded by some kid that doesnt know the correct way to do things. IMO i would steer clear of that car

well the guy im buying it from didnt do any of the work. a friend of mine is the one that tunes it for him but they dont have a ems they are just tuning it though the fuel injectors.

do you think it would be worth getting if i took it to a professional dyno and all that right when i get it? at all?

he just put it on craigslists. let me know what you guys think.

wow thats alot nicer then you described. I guarentee the MAFt setup is the problem. Firsy thing id do is get rid of it and go back to the stock MAF sensor and intake and recirc the BOV. But that is way to much of a setup for only an SAFC. You either need to get rid of it and go with DSMlink, EMS, or get a EPROM ECU and get a flash done at a dyno shop that can do it. Or DSMchip does one. But seems like a decent car.

alright first off what is a MAFt setup and SAFC.

would it be worth the trade? i have another 3 grand coming as well.

how much do you think it would be to get everything i need and whatnot?
