RE: air conditioner

what do you mean cuts off. Like it looses some power, or it just totally dies?

the car totally turns off, if i keep the rpm's up the a/c works great but if the car is just idling, the car dies...

the electric high idle selonoid probly isnt hooked up or isnt working, single wire, i think green? right on the top of the throttle body... have a look at that. maybe adjust it up some. thats where i would start.

The ISC or IAC could be bad too. That's the stepper motor dodad that keeps idle at it's current idle set. Those are common items to go bad, they also cause idle surge and a few more things.

Looking this over i was wondering if this could be my problem...My car runs fine but when i start it up for the first 5 minutes or so the rpm's run from 1500-2000 when i start to move and then slowly go back down around 700 when i stop.

hell i cant get my car off 2800 when its cold for a few minutes.....
they just do that.
all the idle control crap is where to look if the AC kills it unless the compressor is just toasted and it takes that much power to move it.
