external WG on 16g?

what do you think about it? and im looking at this: http://stores.punishment-racing.com/...ial/Detail.bok im wondering about it being 2.5 inch, they have this one which is to ATM and they have one that is recirc, would it be better going with this one cause of the 2.5 inch? or should i just stay with my internally gated ported 02 housing setup?

they kinda name it wrong. Its not really externally gated on that its just being dumped to the ATM. your turbo will still be internally gated. The only thing this will do is maybe relieve some pressure and make it very loud. unless your having problems with boost spikes and creep then i wouldnt bother, unless you wont that loud sound

as far as i know, the little small part on the left side mounts up to a 38mm tial

http://stores.punishment-racing.com/...ere/Detail.bok i think this one is ment to use the origional WG and im not having boost creep problems, they claim that it flows better than even a ported stock one but its probably bs

If your considering dumping the wastgate to the atm, you might want to hear a car w/ it alredy installed. A lot of people who run it like that often go back to recirc. It can be very loud.

no that flange is for where that dump pipe (as shown in the pic, dumps to) the wastegate cant be mounted on the o2 housing, it has to be prior to the compressor housing of a turbo, which is why this is only for internally gated turbos that want to dump. Although i guess this may possibly work for an external gate, but you would have to remove the actuator and wastegate in the turbo first. But like i said, it will make it loud. Depending on where you live and how the cops are you may or may not want to do this.

But yes it will allow for better flow. But nothing that i could see as a huge gain for your setup

ok ya thats what i was wondering, basically would it be worth it type of thing and it seems the answer is no, and yes i have heard an externally dumped waste gate- lound and kinda cool but i probably would have gone recirc anyways
