quick question

Hey guys, i havent been on in a while, and i have a quick question

i havent rebuilt my 92 eclipse yet, and i was wondering, i cant remember, is it a straight swap to swap a 2.0 in for my 1.8? what all would i have to swap over? its a 2.0n/t

Welcome back!

So your going from a 1.8 to a 2.0 n/t. You'll need a wiring harness, maf, ecu, drivers side mount, flywheel, clutch, pp, cam position sensor, coil pack, power transisiter and I think thats it.

ok well how about this.. the 2.0 im looking at, he said it has 104k miles, its a 91, its been well taken care of, but something recently happened and when you start the car it only runs for like 30 seconds then dies.. any ideas what could cause this and how easy it would be to fix?

I had a bad isc and would do that. It would stay running when you gave it gas.

isc? i should know this but i dont, what it that?

BrokeDad 06-19-2009 02:28 PM

I believe it stands for "Idle Speed Control". It's used in interference based engines. The previous poster knows what he's talking about. Take his advice and help.

i have never heard of it, how hard would a isc be to change?

BrokeDad 06-19-2009 03:24 PM

Here is a link I just found quickly describing the part and links to locations etc. It might not be the best info source but it will give you some idea. BTW I was partly wrong in my wording. Internal = Idle (edited reply).

Go to www.vfaq.com and look for idle surge under the "intake" section. It shows how to check/test the isc. If you need a known good one I have one for a 91-94 throttle body.
