i have a 1990 gsx... ok i have rebuild the motor... when i first time is started it... i had to pump the gas peddel but it started... a big puff came from the back passenger side of the engine... i have replaced the ground cables thinkin thats what fried... well it still wont start!! i have replaced the sp wires, compression sits over 90psi, i have replaced the injector plugs!! Still nothing... tested the fuel pump (works)... new ngk's (checked gap too)... any ideas

Compression should be in the 150psi range not 90 psi.
ok i understand if the compression should be 150psi (when engine has ran) but the engine has never started... and always been taught that all you need i 90 psi (actually psi on car is 115 to 120 psi) until the rings get seated... then compression goes up correct?

Are you getting spark and fuel?
gettin fuel... yes
spark... yes |
Are all the timing marks lined up right?
yes and 10 degrees
Well if your doing everything correctly the car should be running. How did you check for fuel?
any upgrades. All i can think of is something either on the cold start or you have low fuel pressure. Something may not be plugged in. It could be a bunch of things though
nope no mods... and ill try to replace the fuel filters tomorrow
