Default ****er problems

i have a 98 gst 5spd. it kicks me out of first kick at stop lights sometimes and sometimes gets hard to shift into gears. sometimes easy and seomtimes tough. its gets tougher if i go faster as in acceralte harder. like the more rpms the trans recieves the harder it is to shift. and there is play in my shifter too. i need help lol. i dont know how to fix the shifter play.

a.) its because you wrote "****er" problems instead of "shifter" problems. the filter on the site blocks out a lot of profanity. anyways, before you buy anything, try adjusting the play on your clutch pedal. if that doesnt work, your linkage probably needs replaced, if your lucky that will fix all of your problems. if not, your most likely going to need a trans rebuild to fix your shifting problems.

I agree. How low does your clutch engage/disengage? How old is the clutch?

i would say about 3inches off the floor before it starts grabbing. but it jsut reclently started making a clicking noise every time i disengage. if i let it out really slowly i get no click and. and how do i fix the play in the shifter itself.? and how do u adjust the clutch pedal?

Sounds like a combo of issues, first sounds like 1st gear syncro is gone if it pops out ans next sounds like your clutch is comming to the end if its grabbing all the way up.

Raise your engagement/disengagement points by raising the pedal, first and see where that leaves you. This alone may fix your issue...or it may not, but it's a good start and a good place to start too.
