Default 16g or 50 Trim

Ok this isn't one of those newbie post.. I hope..lol Ok I have an automatic pretty stock GSX. I am doing heavy research into turbo upgrades and I am torn between the EVO 16g and the 50 Trim. Now the reason I am torn is because I am eventually going to get my tranny rebuilt with a welded diff for 50/50 power distribution along with a high stall torque convertor which can stall up to 5500 RPM's. The end result of my mods is to have an 11-12 sec Daily. Now the 16g is rated around 390HP and the 50 Trim is rated to 450HP. I don't want to redo the internals of the engine, unless I have to somewhere down the road, and since the automatic tranny is parasitic, I am thinking of going with a little more power for a better launch and better mid revs. Basically I am looking at good mid with a nice horsepower peak for drags and highway runs. Emoz and Sang please pipe in! Thanks in advance!

Being that you don't want to buy aftermarket forged internals, I would go with an E316G or a Super16G...why? Lag with an auto, armed with a 50 trim on the interstate, period. That's not a great combo. With a manual, you can downshift, with an auto (high stall or not), you will lag at catch the target only towards the end.
A 50 trim with the high stall will be great from a dig, but not from a roll....in an auto.
A 16G will keep you within your goals and therefor, my opinion is a 16G

I was thinking about the same thing silver. lag is NOT your friend. Even more so in an auto. Welded or not. You have to think about when that turbo is going to actually spool and that with the auto you may not SEE that rpm range unless you know how to catch the kickdown to force a downshift. Even then it STILL doesn't work like a manual as there's always a lag between you hitting that kickdown point and the car dropping down a gear.

interstate races mean you should just brake boost anyway... no lag that way and with an auto it is even easier lol

That is true, but if he really likes the outcome, he will brake boost everywhere he goes and just wear out pads like crazy, lol.
Not to mention, he still wants to keep the stock internals. I can see a problem with that down the road.

Ok a super 16g then.. Mmmm I have not really researched that.. the model number is E316G then right?? I will check that out then. With my car from a roll at 50mph all I do is take the OD off then put it on again once it shifts around 80 mph then she sits real nice. With OD off the rpms kick up like 1-1500 rpms higher for a nice power kick My car just does a dive once I get off a power brake spooling to 2200 rpms and its embarrasing..lol. Here I get the launch then fall on my face seeing cars pass me by.. Not a nice scene to witness..lol

The super 16G is a Hahn Racecraft turbo actually. Here's info on the Super16G
..and here's some info on the Evo III 16G.

The Hahn Super16G is what I'm upgrading to actually. It suits me just fine, since it fits my mods perfectly, not to mention what my goals are.

Well if you want to do it right the 1st time then get all the parts and supporting mods for the 50 and have the engine built to handle it. Otherwise go with the 16G and then build up the parts and $ to do the rebuild when you've assembled everything.
