1996 eclipse gsx idle

ok i just bought me a 1996 gsx eclipse and when i bought it the guy said to buy igition control moduel and it would fix it but it didnt so i put plugs nd wires in it and it brought down the idle but it idles rough like its running rich. what could cause this any one know?

You said it seems rich. Are you firing on all cylinders? With the car running, pull off a plug wire from the spark plug and see if it runs worse or stalls all together. If it does, put it back on and do the same for the other plugs. If you come to one that does not change the way the engine runs, you are not getting fire to that cylinder. Which would probably be a coil pack. I would start here. Were the old plugs fouled at all?

i had to change out a coil pak and it still seems to run a litte rich and the ones i took out were all black. and just the other day i was divingthe car and the whole day it was running finethen out of no where it started to bog down like it had no power but when i came to a red lighti put it in nuetral and after that it ran like a champ. would a bad fuel filter cause that?

Is yours a manual or automatic? You will notice power loss as rpms increase if it is a fuel filter to blame typically. You should change them as a regular part of a tune up though. If you haven't done it, it won't hurt and could help. But if you are certain that you are running rich it's not the filter.

i am gonna change the filter today and when ever i go into full boost my air flow ratio gauage goes all the way to rich. i think its wired up wrong tho so i am going to re hook it up
