1G Swap for mY 98 GsT
 

I know a lot of people ask the same question maybe million times but if i wanna swap 1G bottom and 6 bolt one should I get i Turbo end or regular gs will be fine too. also what else would I need after swapping it and will it effect my modifications on my car. if I swap the bottom and the turbo from the 1G will it be safer. please give me some Ideas thanks.

I would get the 1g 4g63t. It has better internals and rods. BTW where are you located. I currently have one that i am selling

your stock turbo is junk so swap it with at least a 1G 14b if not a 16G. the 1G bottom end is a 6 bolt and no it shouldnt mess up your current mods. yes the block will be able to handle more power, it doesnt crank walk

I am in Columbus, OH. R u selling a complete 1G engine let me know. I might be interested.

EMonz57 will u please give be more information and If u have ideas how much it will cost me to put all that in my car. I will buy a used turbo from a junkyard what should i check before i buy one. 16g is the one in the evo's isn't it and if i buy one do i need to change my internals or what do i need to change thanks a lot.

TheEngineer has a 6bolt GSX block from a 1992 and head that is ported with a 3angle valve job (as well as a JDM VR4 tranny).

The current EVOS use the 16G but you cant use that one, you need the EVO III style one or an aftermarket companies 16G like bushur racing. I cant tell you the cost of any of it since it varies on mechanics and if you can work on it yourself. It is a little project I think DSMtalonAWD on this forum has the swap in his TSi AWD

what exactly the vr4 tranny will do to the car is it a big increase.

the vr4 tranny is just alot stronger becuase that was a main problem with the 1g's from what i understand is that they break easily.
