well its a 2.4l bottom with the 2g head...mods-255fuel pumb, adj fuel pressure reg set at 40psi(a set fuel pressure not the one that increases pressure as boost increase),3in exhaust from down pipe, gsx ecu. . .the rest stock
issues
1.car running very lean on wot around 3000rpm-5000rpm then rich(car stombles)
2.timing is supposed to be 1/2 tooth adv on both of the timing gears but every time i try to set it 1/2 adv it beacomes a tooth off(at moment timing is perfect to the original 2g way)
i kno for a fact it needs a tune but with that extra 20% of displacemet would it cause this issue?and if the timing is on all its mark does it still need that 1/2 tooth adv?if im missing any info to help on this let me know thanks

get the 4g64 cam gears. the timing marks will be perfect, also make sure that you are compensating for the exhaust sprocket. It tends to want to turn counter clockwise when you release the tension on the bolts (when lining up the marks). that will help your time. That way it seems it that you aren't getting enough fuel. Obviously the 20% displacement is going to add more air makeing the mixture lean, but the maf on the intake pipe isn't isn't going to tell the computer to compensate for the extra air WITHIN the engine. So you need a piggy back or chip to make the computer dump more fuel into the combustion chamber.

the thing that trips me out that the timing is perfect. . .everytime a set it adv tooth off it becomes a tooth or more. . .hopefully the apexi afc fixes the stumbling. . .when the car hits boost it runs dagerously lean. . .has anyone tuned with the apexi afc? is it any good?

Its alright, You need a wideband or EGT gauge to effectively tune with it. If you're using anything above 650cc injectors though it is more difficult to get a good tune. I would also recommend some data logging software. evoscan.com is pretty good and it is pretty cheap. I've tuned with everything but dsmlink (which i'll be going to next), and i think the best bang for your buck would be dsmchips. Use that in conjunction with the safc and you'll be golden. Also, which timing belt are you using? You should be using the 4g64 belt from the DOHC galant. If you're trying to use the 4g63 belt, you're going to stretch it, which may be the reason its getting a tooth off.

yea im deffently using the galant dohc belt on there but like all majority of all the forums say to put the cams 1/2 adv which messes up the whole timing. . .the timing right now is on point with all its aligned marks not a mm off. . .might be going megasquirt after a couple of paychecks though. . .heard they were a great bang for the buck
