RE: 6 or 7 bolt?

ORIGINAL: Sebba

Personally i think the 4G63 in general is the king of the forced induction 4cyl world and the DSM is the king of the cheap import world (not including evo)
well right now i kinda agree with this, but i think the more i look into my engine (3s-gte), the more i like it better than the dsm 4g63

non-interference FTW!! :)

You know I was really wondering what the hell Sebba was getting at before he edited his post... lol. I was like WTF?? But didnt feel like battling Seb about it... (you know how that gets). Though, the 3s-gte motor is a badass mofo, I prefer to work on the 5sfe (2.2L Camry motor). You could put a bullet through the block on that thing itll still run just fine... Ive been wanting to drop a 52fe into a Celica or something for a while... maybe throw a turbo on it, call it a day.

yea those are pretty good engines as well. they came in the MKII non-turbo mr2's as well

No ****? Wow, never really knew they used those for Sport cars apps. I know the Celicas used to use the 2.0L 3sfe, which was the same block. But didnt have the EFI or something...

RE: 6 or 7 bolt?

Its a shame how the car industry is really steering away from forced induction.
I don't care much for big v8's, i'd rather a little fuel efficient4 banger with a turbo.

Seems turbos are comming only on diesels now a days.

RE: 6 or 7 bolt?

well besides the evo and sti there really arnt any new turbo cars

RE: 6 or 7 bolt?

NOt stateside, no... it seems turbos only get preferential treatment in overseas places, such as Germany and its love for turboing 1.8L V-dubs... Mercedes leans more towards supercharging... but yea, as Josh said... I too would rather have a fuel efficient 4 with FI, than a gas guzzling V8 withthe"Multi-displacement' option... Seems to me that in the long run, that will cause problems with some of the cylinders...
