I think it could be either. Check for calipers. If it has them its disc of not its drum

i know what they look like, i'm asking what was it equiped with from factory.
I know the RS was drum, but i'm not sure if the GS and GS Spyder are drum or disc.

if you look though the wheel and see a shiny disc like item then it's disc if it's a big brownish looking item it's drum, but it could also have a different package that was ordered from the factory to have disc or not.

Not to be an *******, but I am well aware of what disc brakes look like.
I'm a mechanic.
You're all missing the point.
Does a GS, base & Spyder come from the factory with rear drums, or rear discs?

have a different package that was ordered from the factory to have disc or not.
I'm pretty sure there was no Mitsu factory option on rear brakes.

Manybrews, where are you!?!?!?

I think it could come with either depending on what options the original purchaser of the car ordered from the factory. I'm not so sure about the spyder.

not to be an *** back but why are you asking if your a mech? you could just call a dealer and have 'em look it up or do research on the internet for info on the cars, and the GS is the non turbo of the GST hints the model, different engine but same options. Some sites have a listing of what came to the car in what years, just for a heads up.

Called the dealer, they were too busy playing with Lego's to actually come up with a sufficient answer.
internet research... why not just ask teh best damn mitusbishi information site on the internet? That seemes like alogical idea.

Ya don't say! Since when man?
Damn.
What'd they do, turbo that 2.0ltr DOHC 420A beastly powerhouse!?!?!?!?
Mitsubishi must have lost its marbles.
Or did they turbo the 2.4ltr 4G64 motor!!!!
I'm lost.
What are the chances that they just put in the 4g63motor thats been in Eclipse GST's and GSX's since 1989?
GS.... T.
What are the chances that the T in GST might mean turbo?

Crazy world.

Thats exactly what I needed to know.
Thanks buddy!

Reason I asked is b/c there were some... *ahem* people on my road from another country not here legally. Had a 2gA Eclipse, and I was curious as to the model b/c *TADA!* it had rear discs.
I saw under the hood and it was a 420A, so I just wanted to know out of curiosity if that was how they came in 95-96. Just seemed... out of place.
