96 Eclipse turbo trans question
 

First off, thanks "slow" for the comeback.
Now, I got the trans out of the car and I'm trying to split the case.
It won't come apart. Seems to be hung up on the shift rods / shift actuator.
Is there some trick to getting the case apart?
I've got all the bolts out that can come out. All the ball detents etc.
The top most shift rod is moved toward the back of the trans and is free and clear of the shift actuator.
The other two shift rods are hung up on the shift actuator. (manual trans.)
Anyone been through this? Suggestions? - that is outside of scrapping it?

Sometimes this works, call a local dealership and ask for the 4g63 guy there, tell him that you have a problem with you tran and you were told to bring it in(its important to say that) explain how its stuck and ask him how to get it apart so you can drop it off.

Usually they dont ask you to drop things off, like some shops will, so when he says"who told you that?" Tell him some guy you talked to over the phone, and you dont rember his name. If he dosent want to help you get a little mad and tell him that your car is all apart b/c one of his guys told you to bring it in. Usually they fold and tell you how to do it. This has worked for me a few times. Remember over the phone...

1-You can be anyone, no one can see you over the phone
2-Always use *67
3-If it gets hot, hang up
4-Be confident, you can do it!!
