ive been just looking around for a project car and found this on craigslist...guys askinglike $800 for it and im not sure..it has 129k on it and doesnt run..hes replaced the belts and head gasket but engine doesnt run and not sure what the problem is..any advice on buying it and what the potential problems could be?

And im not so sure an ESi should be considered a project car though. I would want to know what is wrong with it before i looked into buying it. A compression test is a good way to determine mechanical or electrical failure

 

no i know not to just go buying it id actually go look at it..and i was possibly doing a motor swap

 

I would pick it up and try to turn it around for some money. But $800 for an non running esi seems a bit much. What shape is the body in?

 

there are no swaps that would be cost effective to attempt
