98 Spyder GS Auto Tranny Problems
 

Have a 98 Spyder GS 2.4L engine Auto Trans w/132K Miles. Recently and completely without prior symptoms the forward gears on the tranny have basically stopped working. Vehicle shifts into gear and on giving it gas engine revs with almost no power getting to the drive wheels. Reverse still works fine - as a matter of fact had to reverse it up my sloped driveway to get it back to the garage - plenty of power/torque in reverse. Have not taken it to a shop yet to get it looked at. Wondering if this is a common enough problem for some response from this forum??? Am I looking at something repairable or is a transmission rebuild in my future? Any help / suggestions would be appreciated.
