99 Eclipse Remote

I just recently purchased a 1999 Eclipse Spyder with 41K miles on it. Sweet ride with no mods. The owner said he had no key fob remotes - but he was the 2nd owner. Did a 1999 Spyder come with remotes? If so, what did they do - just lock/unlock, or panic also? If I were to find replacements (assuming they exist), are programming instructions available?
Thanks in advance - Ned

Chances are good that if you get a key fob the uses the same freqs as the stock ones (or just get stock ones...good luck finding them, lol) and program them, they will work. You do have to have power locks though. A Spyder should have them, I've never seen or heard of a base model Spyder.
Same with you Top.
Programming is not dealership price worthy. It's a 5 minute job for starters, not $35+ from the dealerships. I have it somewhere and I can get it for you once you get a key fob. Keep note that 95-99 Eclipse (any trim), 95-98 Talon (same), 95-00 Dodge Avenger (same), and 95-00 Chrysler Sebrings use the same key fobs with the same freqs.
...and welcome to MF Nedley.![Big Grin](https://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Oh yeah, check ebay periodically, they have them every so often.

Since I still have this thread in mind, I went ahead and nabbed the write-up I posted on how to program the remotes for a 2G Eclipse/2G Talon/1G Avenger/1G Sebring (it's really odd to say or type 1G Avenger, lol).
https://mitsubishiforum.com/m_101287/tm.htm
I forgot to add that once you see this write-up you'll see why I say that it's not worth the $35+ programming fee from the dealership.
