Default 99 Gs Starting Problem

If I am driving the car and shut it off for 10 or 20 min, then go to restart it, it won't start. It will start somtimes but not all the time. It will push start. When I turn the key to the on position I always hear the fuel pump turn on. All the lights come on and I have power to everything but it won't start. The car does not click or anything. The old owner had a remote start on the car but took it out, but it still has a clutch overide.

Nope alternator should have nothing to do with it when starting at least that's what I thought. I think I know what the problem is but I can't remember what the part is called... It IS electrical though.

Never mind your right i read the post wrong, I just happen to be an expert , if it were the altenator the car would run for 10-15 min then die. It would always be able to start just not run. In that case check the clutch sensor, chances are when he took it out he messed something up. My car use to do the same thing when i first got it. It had a broken alarm in it and ever once in a while it would key up but not start, the starter wouldent even turn the motor over. I ended up ripping out the brain of the alarm... runs great now. This is a perfect example that if you do not know what you are doing that you should leave wiring to the profesionals. MY friend has been doing installs in a car audio place for 6 years he has told me some horror storys of people that think their the regular johnny 12 volt.

LOL yep there's some real electricians out there. Like my brother... Bare wire?? NO PROBLEM electrical ttape fix EVERYTHING... the idiot lol... The only thing is it doesn't sound like a fooked alarm install. Besides he said it USED to have the alarm... It dosn't make sense that it starts then after running it won't start again. I think it's a... I wanna say ballast... but I know it's not... I know where the part is on my antique I just can't remember what it's called... Patrick can ya help me on this one?

When you try to start the car are you putting your foot down on the clutch? Its a stupid question but I fuigered id just ask. I got the part that he took the starter out and everything but a wire may be losing a ground or something like that due to a imporper uninstall or something. Or the clutch sensor bypass may not be fully operational.

Its funny this came up because my boss' truck does the same thing, so far he has replaced the distributer, plug wires, ecu, fuel pump, injectors, now he is thinking it may be the front o2 sensor... but I dunno about that. Also the truck is eating away at his batt, Any idea's on that one its a 1990 f150.
