Antenna does not go down

I have a 99 mitsubishi spyder and noticed today that the antenna does not go down, I do not have a manual and the fuse boxes do not indicate which fuse is related to the antenna. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Antenna does not go down

I own a 97 spyder.Power antennas have a plastic rod inside that has teath on it.as the motorturns on to raise or lower the mast a gear pulls this rod and coils it around the motor housing.if this plastic rod is broken as many do the antenna will not lower or raise. if you can feel the motor trying to run the mast can be replaced.$50.00 from the dealer.a new antenna from the dealer where i live was $260.00.I went to a wrecking yard and payed $75.00 and it works grate.good luck.______Spyder GS.

i got mine to move again..
i still dont understand though?

my battery was going dead every night, and i thought it might had been my amp drawing power.
so i took out the fried fuse that was on the power, and i herd something and looked up and my attena was going down?
so idk

Wow... Im gonna say somethings crossed somewhere... Check on the back of your stereo... Im thinking the amp remote wire (usually blue) is swapped with the antenna remote wire (usually light blue or blue with a white stripe)
Also, the antenna doesnt usually have an inline fuse. Its powered by the head unit.

the wireing was already there when i bought the car, so i just hooked it up to the previous wires..
