BCS Restrictor
So, I was reading the tech pages on the GST/GSX and I was reading the "cheap performance mods" and I came across the BCS restrictor topic. What is this and where is it located?
Okay....my bad....found some posts about it but I have a 1g and there is a "how to" for a 2g....is it the same for the 1g as well? |
RE: BCS Restrictor
just buy a boost controller. i know its not free but its an idea.

RE: BCS Restrictor
yeah...all that work for a tiny 1-2 psi? Not worth it in my book.

RE: BCS Restrictor
Have to disagree with last two posts. Well the boost controller is an idea but the restrictor does help.
After Removing the Restrictor the turbo boosts a little faster and i could feel the pull. it's not a whole, "holy Sh!t!!", but it's noticable. here's some pics that may help http://www.plymouthlaser.com/bcs.htm |

RE: BCS Restrictor
then why not just do it.
It takes only 5 minutes most and if you do it easy and don't rush it, you wont harm the selenoid at all. That way if you find out you don't like it, put it back in. My hint to you. The best screw i've found to take it out is a screw from a door. Look on the side of the door (the side that latches to the wall) and where the actual latch comes out of the door, use one of those screws above or below it. they're long and thin and work great! just, as you're removing the selenoid, don't push in very hard. put slight pressure and slowing spin the screw. you'll see it catch when the selenoid starts to spin. slightly twist as you pull out. VOILLA! you got 1 - 2 more slightly noticable psi. |
