Nobody can tell you....... thats something you gotta look for yourself.

Pull the cover off (its not hard) and take a peek. Sometimes there is **** at the bottom of it....

Well there is a reason for that timing cover. How are your engine mounts, the engine shouldn't move that much.

yeah, the two bottom (front and back) break alot and will give you lots a play. i would think about getting poly inserts for those two...even if they arnt broken, they may be worn out.

you can also get an engine damper,
it bolts up by the top of the strut on the cam gear side,
it will keep the engine from rocking as far.
but it does sound like you need some mounts.
i had one broken one and my engine rocked back and forth severely.

My suggestion would be first and foremost, buy a cover! Next, buy new mounts, inserts, or get some used mounts and make your own stiffer mounts from a set of old mounts and liquid nails or the likes.

My other suggestion is to remove the strut bar. It does nothing but allow the two towers to move at the same time, same distance in relation to the other, and in the same direction. Unless the bar is connected to the firewall, it's useless since the towers already do this with minimum variation.
Why do you think EVOs use a three contact strut brace and not a bar.
Take that bling off and use it for something else like a hatch prop or hood prop or even an onboard anti-theft device.
