I'm a newb so I'm not quite sure, but I think that stock gst's don't come with blow off valves. Instead, they come with a bypass valve. Thats why you cant hear that sweet BOV sound cus you have the bypass valve.

RE: BOV

blow off valve and bypass valve are usually considered the same. the reason you can't hear yours is b/c you are recirculating the air intake. when the BOV releases the built up boost, instead of releasing to the atmosphere(which will give you the psssst sound), it recirculates the air back into the intake pipe.

Ya... buy a bov, also the reason it dosent make a pssht sound is because the valve is constructed of plastic and is.... ****ty for a lack of words. Some times it opens side ways and does not immedatily relieve the pressure at once.. which is bad. Also it has a limit to pressure it can hold. Be care full tho, my friend tryed to put a rfl on his stock rubber hose and it wouldnt let the hood shut, so I'd hop on dsmtuners.com and check out with other people are running, and how they are doing it. Also to fuiger out what kinda sound you wnat I reccomend visiting either conceptillusions.com ( who are now doing alot with gst's and gsx's) or blowoffvalves.com to hear sound clips of different bov's.

RE: BOV

you need to keep your BOV as a recirculating BOV. if you change it to an atmospheric BOV and keep the MAS/MAF in the stock position, you WILL have problems.

Yep I agree with eclipsed4u. If you go to atmosphere you're only robbing yourself of power and engine life.
