Default cat delete pipe

i have a 98 gst 5 speed with greddy evo 2 catback. if i take out the catalitic converter and put a straight pipe there will a gain hp? i know its not emissions legal but i know people, and if i do gain horse power is it a noticable amount?

you will obviously gain some better flow and maybe some HP but i dont think you will notice it

Why dont you just get a downpipe w/ a cat delete. What size is your cat-back 2 1/2 or 3"?

It will increase hp but like TE said its probably not gonna be noticable.

um i honestly dont know. its a greddy evo 2 cat. proabbly a 3 inch. but i think the flange is a 2 1/2? cause its bolted to stock catalitic converter

where can i find a decent one at?. i saw a couple on ebay lol. for like a 95 dollars. bad idea?.

o ok and one more question. what is the difference between a narrowband and a wideband? for air/fuel. is it good to have?. im thinking about investing in one.

all the wideband 02 sensor does is let you see the realtime A/F ratio instead of just getting info from the stock narrowband 02 sensor which when you hook a cheap narrowband a/f ratio gauge to you just get a colorful lights show. If you are planning on modifying your car to the point of upgrading fuel and tuning then it is almost imperative that you get a wideband 02 sensor and gauge

It's not noticeable. What this does is allow for less exhaust restriction, thus better exhaust output and a hint of HP. HP output is more noticeable with high output turbos with less restrictive intake - intake mani - exhaust mani - etc. What you will notice is an annoying droning wherever you go.
