I did the all famous key dance on my 97 Eclipse and got 1-2-3-1-5-5... and 5-5 is end correct, so, 1-2-3-1 should be the code. A similar post was made here https://mitsubishiforum.com/m_4710/m...31/tm.htm#4710 but the guy didn't seem to get much help... I was wondering if anyone could further advise?

btw that code is like cancer for an eclipse, it will never go away. Lots of kids on 2g.com have that and just live with it becuse no matter what they replace it wont go away.... but if you want to try something the gas cap gasket would be a place to start.

 

So I'm guessing it wont hurt my car ?...

 

nope, you want pass inspection but it does no dammage to your car.

 

Lucky for me, we don't have inspections here in Alabama... at least not where I live. [8D]

well if you ever had to get the inpection you could still get it to pass as long as the code stays off for about a hlf an hour after being reset
