Cold air intake for spyder gs?

a while back, when i first got my 1997 spyder, i tried to put a cold air intake on it, well, it didnt fit and the guy said i needed one for a mass air flow, something or another. i dont know much about all that stuff so i was wondering what i need, for anyone that can help? (i looked at ones that said mass air flow and everything, but they said that they were for turbos only, and my car's only the spyder gs, will it still work?)

What brand and where did you get it from?

...and what parts do you have now? it sounds like all you need is the mass air flow sensor adaptor. the sell them at pep boys or autozone and i think checker has them.

I had the same problem when I was purchasing an intake. What you need a MAFS adapter. What it basically is, is a piece of plastic which bolts on to the sensor on your stock intake and then has a 3inch round head which a intake filter can go on. If you look at K&n or ebay and search intakes for a turbo eclipse you'll see what i'm talking about.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forums and had the same question as the OG poster. I have a 99 Eclipse Spyder GS (NON-TURBO).

So are you guys saying that all I need is what is in the link below? I don't need to actually buy a cold air intake?

If all I need is the what is posted above, is this easy to install? Anyone have a picture to see what the final goal looks like (close up if possible)?

Thanks
