I got my compression checked yesterday. cyl. 1,3,4 are 145psi and cyl. 2 is 147psi. just over service limit. Should I rebuild or just drive it?

 

I thought a normal compression was supposed to be around 125psi....maybe im wrong

well what is the compression ratio for the turbo engines.

 

Ok from the research that ive gathered it seems that the compression ratio is 8.5:1. And also from what ive found, is that you should be expecting to get around 17 to 20 times this. So it looks to me, and correct me if im wrong, but you should be looking for 145-170psi with a difference less than 10% per cyclinder.

So it apears to me that even though your on the low end, your still in the right area.

 

there is nothing wrong with 145psi i dont think. Your fine... unless you start to burn oil or something.

 

Yeah your numbers look good, low but good.

? they are low, but decent. "good" would be 175. 145-150 isnt 175. 145-150 is in the low range. But its still decent.

 

with oil changes every 2500 miles and not beating the **** out of it, about how much time do you think I have before I need to rebuild?
