CONFUSED on Fuel cut?
Alright guys i am a little confused on the "fuel cut" deal... I have heard that it is too much fuel getting to the engine.. And i have heard not enough fuel getting to the engine. WHAT is it exactly?

RE: CONFUSED on Fuel cut?
fuel cut happens when 1 of 2 things happen.1 the fuel pump can't pump enough fuel to the engine. 2the fuel injectors are to small to provide the engine with enough fuel from the pump/lines.

Well actually TRUE fuel cut has to do with the air flow meter, if it starts detecting more air then it can read then it will cut really hard, like the whole motor shut down for a second. The cut that most people get is more of a misfire type of feel. Still very noticable though. It happens when you dont have enough fuel and have a lean condition.

LOL! Thanks silvercoupe. This was a retarded question, i have just been hearing too many different things, and just got me all mixed up. In other words then... LOL! I would need to add fuel!

The real "fuel cut" feels like you ran over a parking curb when the ECU shuts off the injectors and spark all at the same time from picking up too much airflow. its like turning the key off then back on real quick while its floored and one hell of a hard jerk. Overboost protection for the engine, hard on the drivetrain.
