Default Dashboard

Hello all. New member here from Germany. I'm American but live in Germany. Just have a question about a 95 Eclipse dashboard. I have a rattling noise coming from under the dash near the passenger side windshield defroster vent. I've popped out the vent and couldn't find anything loose in there. I can't figure out how to get the dashboard out. Also, how would I go about doing it anyway with the airbag in the way? If anyone has ever taken the dashboard out please let me know how you did it and what the difficulty level was. The noise is driving me crazy and I think something just needs to be tightened.

Thanks,
Andy

First off disconnect the negative side of the battery. If you're gonna funk with the air bag (Which in removing the dash you WILL have to remove the airbag), disconnect the battery. Don't want to inadvertantly blow that sucker while you're trying to pull it out. You'll likely have to remove the glove box and get the screws under there and I believe there are ikely multiple screws (2 or 3 I'm guessing) up by the windshield. Gonna have to check around for any screws and probably find the ones in the center console as well (Remove radio, A/C controls, and whatnot...).

Gonna have to remove that steering wheel as well... be careful not to pull too hard and have it smack you in the face/chest.

The one thing that sucks about doing it is usually once you pull it off, it never quite seems to go back on the same. Oh and just a note: once youve taken all the bolts out it will still be a little hard to take off cuz there are small clips on the inside that have to snap out. So you will need to use some force.

Yep it's TO going to be easy to do at all. Then once it's all out you really can't stat it so you'l have NO idea where the sound comes from... I'd say see if you can tighten any bolts that are there currently that you can get to and see if you can find a loose screw or bolt or something.
