Does this sound like a vacuum leak??

Ok so I have a '95 Eclipse GS and have been having some problems with starting and also accelerating. When the car is cold it takes 4-5 tries to get the car to start while giving it gas. But when its warm it idles right around 900-1000rpm. In regards to accelerating, if i go to gun it the engine seems to cut out regarless of the rpm its at; but the car drives great if you slowly give it more gas. At first i was told to replace the plugs and wires which I did and it made no difference so i thought it may be a vacuum leak which i found a few and replaced the tupes and sealed the wholes but i still seem to have the same problem...any suggestions??

my first thought would have been the plugs and wires too, but since you replaced them i would look into maybe the coil pack. Cuz it seems like your misfiring and not getting spark.

TE, the base idle set screw, I ****ed with it one time and the car idled like all hell... just thought it seemed viable... I suppose not... gimme a break its 8:30am. lol

This either sounds like an extreme vacume leak, a loss of spark, or a compression problem.

He didnt say he had an idle problem, he said he had a problem with the car starting and with it sputtering at WOT. So the only two things to me that would attribute to both a starting issue and a stumbling issue is either not getting good spark, or not getting fuel. I suppose it could be a sensor too, but unlikely. BTW do you have any check engine light?

No there is no check engine light on.

This could be problems at the throttle body, check throttle position sensor, which might need cleaning,it is important however to know if the vehicle is throttling right, you could also have restrictions at the air inbtake monifold
