I agree those prices are both a rip. The idea is to not worry about book value but know what it is and shoot for less. My EVOs book value was $27k and the trade value of it was still $25k and they were asking $26995 for it I took it home for $22k thats less than trade value so that almost never happens.. I got $5000 off the top just by playing the game with them

 

And that's exactly it. It's a game to them. They actually have a price that hey are allowed to give the car away for. They'll never admit it nor will they tell you what it is BUT they're going to try to sell you that car for MUCH more for the fact that the more it goes for the more the salesman gets in his paycheck. There's a set price for each car that the dealer won't go below find it and work him down to it and you'll get a good deal. Otherwise screw that it's not worth THAT much...
