Hey guys, im new here, been into imports for awile, but lately getting serious about buying one. Ive been thinking of a 97 or 98 eclipse, i mean i would love a GS-T, but even them are getting kind of hard to find. How much HP do they have over the GT. Could u g et away with buying a gt and putting some performance parts on it, or is it basically just dumb to buy that instead of the GS-T.???

 

GT would be from 00-04....and its a V6......

 

GT is a sexy beast of an engine but I'll stick with my 4G63 block LOL.

 

The GSt is from 95-99(2G) it has i beleive 210HP the GT from 00-05(3g) is a V6 with 205hp. The GT with a few mods wont det you anywhere it will feel practicly the same as stock. the GSt with some mods will be an all out full difference in the way the car feels. A turbo car respondes to mods better than a N\A car.

It would be worth it to hang out and wait for a nice GSt over the GT trust me I had my GT for only 6 months before I got rid of it. The reason I got rid of it was because I was spending money modding it and it wasnt getting any faster.

OHHHH lol if you wnat a fast car get a gst, if you want a quick car... dont get a gs. LEts put it this way, GS-T runs a 15_ stock. gs... not so fast. After I threw on an intake, 60mm throttle body, plugs, wires, hedder, cayt bypass, 2.5 dump out the back, short throw shifter, after that my car became a WHOLE second slower than the stock gs-t. Thats after about 1100 bucks. If you put that money into a stock gst.. it would be alot faster. If you are instrested in a 420a read the sticky post at the top about how to build a track terror 420a.

 

If you want an eclipse because you like the looks of it, buy the GS.. If you like the eclipse b/c you want a fast car that looks good, buy the GS-T...

get the gs-t unless u want to buy an eclispe strickly for looks (and they are very good looking). i personally dont think a gs would be much fun... but my opinnion of fun isnt getting beat in a drag race by a road biker.
