Eclipse Engine/ a few questions

I finally got my elipse like I wanted for 2 years. A '95 lipse manual, and the engines blown. I need to find an engine, but I'm not even sure if its a gs, I'm sure it a 4 cyl., 2.o. and DOHC. But as far as looking for one, I am almost clueless. How would I know what body type it is? Does anyone know how much a remanufactored engine would cost me? And I want to put the new engine in myself, any tips I could use while installing it?

if its turboed and front wheel drive, its a gs-t, if its turboed and all wheel drive, its a gsx. if its non turboed and its got fog lights, its a gs, and if its non turboed and got no fog lights, its probably an rs

if your motor looks like my avv then its a rs/gs if not its a gst/gsx. MY guess is that its a 420a(rs/gs). A new motor is going to cost some bills. Your better off heading to your local junkyard and ordering and used shortblock and droping that in. Something like that would cost around 500 bucks.

ok well my guess is that its a 420a. IDK why...just a hunch. And what led you to beleive that the engine is blown. It might just be the head that is.

Well the owner that had the 'clipse before me, I guess was racing, and turned the piston sideways. I know how to fix that, but I'm not spending that much time and effort on something like.
