That compilation might make a good sticky... Especially if we could track down which models have which engines and write it all up?

i have acquired some information about what engines appeared in...for instance, the 4G54 was used in the dodge ram D50, as well as a mazda pickup truck. but the engine application list would be MILEs long..which is why i havent included anything. this will either be stickied, or added as a 'useful link" atop the forum.

Well I wasn't really refering to the ENTIRE list being written up like that but merely the Mitsu's. (The 4G54 used in Dodge AND Mazda??? I thought Ford owned Mazda....) I just figured it would be helpfull to ALL of us to have for example a list of ALL eclipses stickied at the beginning of THIS sector of the forum with thier engine's listed then repeat process for the Lancer in the Lancer section and the Galant in the galant section and so on and so forth. Just an idea.

well, if we could come to a concensus as to what engine went in what car, we could do that. the eclipse would be fairly easy, but for a car like the lancer series, it has used just about every I4 engine at one point or another. also, with the less popular engines, i have been having issues finding much more than displacement.

so what have we figured out thus far?
the 1gs had (up to 94):
4g37-base model
4g63-GS
4g63T-GSX/GST

the 2gs had (95-99):
420a-rs/gs
4g63t-gst/gsx

the 3gs had (00-05):
4g64?-rs/gs..i know that the stratus coupe base model used the 4g64, and the Rt used the 6g72..what about the lower line eclipses?
6g72-gt
6g72 with 6g74 intake manifold-gts

4gs have (06+):
6g72 MIVEC in the GT
and the base has what? the 4g64 again?

See you've got me on that one but there SHOULD be a way to figure it out. A little research should be able to pull SOMETHING up. I have the Haynes for the 1G eclipse so it MIGHT give the engines that are in it and which ones they were in. I'm not sure I'll have to check it later and see... But you understand what I'm getting at right?? It would hopefully stop some of these "What engine do I have and what will fit in my car" type questions. Possibly add a small section at the very end if we DO make that type of sticky thread that has other compatible blocks (within reason in other words without MAJOR mods to force fit in there).

I'll go through my Stratus and my Eclipse 1G book and let you know what I find enginewise there. (Yeah BTW My Mom drives a '99 Stratus though nothing but trouble there...)
