Default engine removal

I just bought an 99 eclipse that has an engine knockhow do you remove the engine from the top or the bottom?

ur engine is knocking so you want to remove it? wow. you do know all you have to do is turn down the boost or get it tuned right?

well this engine is stock the kid that had it must of run it with out oil till it started to knock

i'm just sayin.... you don't have to remove the engine.... as a matter of fact, what are you planning on doing when you remove it? you willl have the same problem if you change nothing else...

I think you're thinking of two different types of knock. The "knock" caused by excessive boost/timingw with the lack of fuel, and the "knock" that the engine makes when it spins a bearing, etc.

This is a audible knock right? Like it's knocking out loud. Do you have any idea why it's knocking? Where the knock is coming from etc? I wouldn't go pulling the motor until you know why and where. If it comes down to it though... you can pull it either way. I've heard it's easier through the bottom but I've taken it through the top and it wasn't that bad.

mine we put on a lift and dropped it out the bottom with the tranny and put in back in through the bottom. hopefully your engine doesnt blow like mine did

sounds like a bearing knock but it is to high on the motor possible a bent valve

how loud it is? it might be just the lifters and the injectors workin, i thought i had a tick untill i realized it was just that
