Default EVO III spool up time

Ok so now that I have got everything tuned in it seems like the EVO III has quite a bit more lag than the t25, is that pretty normal? Would a downpipe help that out a lot?

It will help a little, but you wont see a huge difference.

what would help is a lightweight flywheel to get the engine revving a little faster, and a stroker kit haha, but that's a lot of work and money

some porting of the head and manifold helps flow some more air in there

that's true, and it's not very hard just takes some time... just little stuff here and there... if you ported that stuff, got a downpipe you should notice a difference

If you want a big difference, stroke the motor^^

But if your planning on keeping your car at stock boost, it really doesnt pay to upgrade the turbo much more than a 14b b/c of turbo lag.. After driving a 20g turbo, it feels like the t25 is spooling instantly.. Thats nice to have for in town driving..

Yeah, I am running 15psi right now, I alredy ported the turbo and manifold, and I have a lightweight flywheel. So I guess this is just how it is. I want to eventually run 18psi but we will just have to wait.
