you cant push the piston back by hand unless your like hulk hogan. Sebba when was the last time you did brakes? All the brakes I have EVER done you NEED a C clamp to close the pistons in and the more worn your pads are the worse it is. Evo on my Evo they are brand SPANKIN new caliper like seriouls a week old and nope cant go back by hand......... maybe only if you leave the resivour open you can but then youll need to bleed the line again since you let air back in
um, ya you can actually, i did it on my car, it doesnt sink flush right away, but if you hold a steady pressure on it for a few seconds, it will retract to be flush where it needs to be

all i know is when i replaced them on my elantra i struggled to push the piston in even with a clamp it was so stuck. But if you guys said you did it with your hands i believe you. I just know ive never been able to do it.

you didnt prove me wrong lol....... I have done brakes a few times. and I garentee you eery car I have done them on even back to my GS eclipse it cant be done. I do however usually drive till my pads are nothingness and the pistons are fully opened and I know I am not a weak person in the slightest way. All my cars were a PITA even with the c clamps Dont know maybe you have had lower levels of brake fluid as that can make a difference. Plus what are you guys talking single piston calipers??? you know cause I have ahhhhhhhhh oh yea 4 piston calipers so that may have part to do with teh EVO
