My brother gotz a race coming up n he drives a 97' GSX with miner modz nuthin special, a few friendz of his are racing with an stock 95' stock RX-7 with sum 17inch rimz n a new exaust, a 96' integra type R with sum v-tec modz on the engine , a 95' integra GS-R also with a few minor v-tec modz, and a 99' Honda Civic Si with vtec modz. I was j/w if he had any chance wut so ever....i have full confidence in eclipses but i mean racing an rx-7? and integra type R? i've heard stories of those carz whooping vettes....but anyway...does anyone think he has a chance?

 

wat mods does he have on his GSX, intake n exhuast? I'd say he could take out the GSR n Civic, prolly the Type-R, but depending on the model of the RX-7 he wouldnt have a chance.

 

nah all the GSX has is exaust, the rx-7 is 1995 i dunno anything else about it cept itz stock.

 

it comes down to the driver for sure. gsx's arent very quick with just an exhasut, my friends gsr had a stronger 3rd gear back when we were both stock. make sure he gets a GOOD launch, he'll need it. theres a free mod thatl give him an extra 2psi of boost he should do it before the race. http://www.jumptronix.com/2g_go_faster/index.htm click on FAQ/How To and then on BCS Restricion Removal

I'd say the big thing is def what the RX7 has, if it's a twin then eh.

 

RX-7's are not nearly the powerhouse people think they are. I pulled one by 3 cars with nothing more than the basic mods.(Free boost mod, Dump Tube mod, exhaust, intake). Unless the RX-7 is highly modded(which is VERY expensive on a rotary), your brother should win unless he can't drive. A rotary motor is EXTREMELY hard to modify. You cannot simply "build" the motor. Try finding a website with internals for one. The only tru way to build a rotary is to port the backside of the motor out and turn the freeze plugs into intake ports to get more air into the motor. Single turbo is also very expensive and almost improbable on the streets.

assuming that the 95 GSX times are the same as a 97 stockthe RX-7 would beat a stock GSX by almost 2 seconds 0-60 and .9 second 1/4 mile.
once more assuming he knows how to drive the RX-7.

 

thats the thing that gets me, type r's and rx-7 beat vettes after they spend about as much as a vette costs in mods. I highly doubt yuor brothers friends have spent that much and just as a side note, the new C6 Z06 has a 7.0 liter 500 hp beast under the hood. not too many type r's/rx-7s are going to beat that. maybe old school vettes that were under 400hp but not this. and i still think that his gsx might have a chance. just wondering, is it stick or auto? that might make a difference too.
