Are GSX & GST reliable?
 

I was discussing my next car with a friend and i mentioned considering an eclipse gsx or gst. He claimed that the eclipse has a lot of engine problems and that i was "better off with a honda or a toyota" </P>


i like the 97-99 eclipse as far as style and power but i know nothing about the engines. any input is greatly appreciated.</P>

For me, I think the GSX is more relible than GS-T..<IMG src=smileys/smiley1.gif border="0">.. but doesnt matter which car ya get, its all the same..

The only reason DSM's get bad reputations for always being broken is people don't realize that you have to maintain the car and they need alot of TLC.<IMG src=smileys/smiley17.gif border="0"></P>

dats true, if u want a sports car like the gst or gsx, den u gota maintain it, and if u do, u shouldnt have problems...as far as gsx or gst, they have the same engine 4g63, so that doesnt matter, just da gsx is awd, n i dont see how that makes it more reliable...

Make sure you have insurance money...If your under 25 be prepared to pay around $4,000 a year on insurance.

reliability... GSX, has a stronger tranny. my buddy has a gst and blew it on a drag. he found a guy that rebuilds GSX tranny's to fit GSTs though.. being as that the gsx is awd, it has be stronger because of that reason alone.. other than that.. bout the same. </P>


the only probs I've had are normal.. new clutch, brakes, water pump. gotta take care of it though. its a little more demanding than other cars, but def. worth the time.</P>
